About us
We are
Elim School of English is a community programme coming out of the Lakeside Elim Church in Southport. We are one of Southport’s most active churches, established in 1931. Elim is named after an oasis in the Sinai desert – an ancient place of refreshing for pilgrims and travellers. We like to think of our centre as just such a place of refreshing today!
Elim School of English is one of our activities to welcome people of all nations to Southport and help them settle here. To learn about our full range of activities for all ages please visit our curriculum page, or even better, why not call in and see us. One thing you will be guaranteed is a really warm welcome.
We endeavour to help individuals attain skills to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening. We will help individuals to prepare for exams and to improve communication skills for their job. Whatever the requirement we will do our best to help.
The teaching staff are committed to help individuals reach their potential. We endeavour also to build good relationships with our students and offer pastoral support for all including student family members. The director for the School of English is qualified in pastoral work and along with his wife who is Albanian have a passion to care for those from overseas.
